Signing of two new loan agreements. 12 and 17 September 2013, Minsk
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has stepped up its support for energy efficiency investments in Belarus with its two new loan agreements within the framework of the Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility (BelSEFF) which was launched earlier this year. EBRD signed €10 mln. 5-year term loan agreements with Bank BelVEB OJSC and BPS-Sberbank on 12 September 2013 and 17 September 2013, respectively.
Financing within the Facility is proposed for the companies who meet the EBRD eligibility criteria and aimed at the sustainable energy efficiency and renewable energy sources projects.
Agreements provide free technical support for companies – banks’ customers: energy audit, assessment of companies’ demand for resources and effectiveness of their use, evaluation of potential energy savings, advice on selection of appropriate equipment. The technical support is provided by a consortium of KPMG and Enviros (Czech Republic) and is funded through the Ministry of Finance of Czech Republic by the donor country Czech Republic.
